ABOUT SHARED MEDIUM

MISSION.

The mission of Shared Medium is to strengthen and interconnect creative arts communities by producing inclusive, collaboration inspiring, artist and community engaging events, publishing regionally curated works that involve and combine the work of artists across mediums, and offering a platform for arts community resource sharing.

ABOUT

Shared Medium is an arts nonprofit and production company headquartered in Seattle with projects spanning globally. We produce creative projects that are regionally focused, that invite collaboration, and that are geared towards engaging and inspiring emerging artists and their communities.

The ideal we work towards with our productions is to engage emerging artists and showcase their work, directly involve and contribute to the local community, and create increasingly connected and interwoven arts communities.

WORK.
GIGANTIC BICYCLE FESTIVAL

The Pacific Northwest's Music & Arts Celebration of the Bicycle! Gigantic Bicycle Festival is the Pacific Northwest’s annual summer celebration of bicycle culture. The three day, mid-Summer festival features a diverse, gloriously multifaceted and regionally representative mix of live music, hand-built bicycles, visual & performance art, film, guest speakers, workshops, sculpture, and interactive installation pieces. The weekend features Century & 50 mile road rides, cyclocross, a 12 mile family ride, and guided Sunday cycling tours of the Snoqualmie Valley.

HEARTS & MINDS & CROOKED BEATS

Benefiting the International Rescue Committee (www.rescue.org), the compilation Hearts & Minds & Crooked Beats invites bands and visual artists to create work inspired by The Clash and celebrating their music and human rights message. The album is released as a digital download on World Refugee Day, June 20th.

INKY SPOKES

Inky Spokes takes place annually as part of the Gigantic Bicycle Festival. The always evolving exhibition of bicycle inspired art features anything from fine art, bicycle-poster-art, bicycle inspired craft, installation and sculpture, to recycled bicycle creations. Inky Spokes programming takes place throughout the year, with events and installations throughout the Pacific Northwest.

TOUR JOURNALS

Tour Journals are musician written documents of their experiences touring. They're eclectic and informational and hilarious and as odd as the road can be. They can also be a good reference to musicians and performing artists who may want to travel to these places.

Rebel Rebel FC

Local bands, artists, record store staff, station djs, festival organizers, venue bookers, promoters, writers, et al, chasing a soccer ball around and taking breaks to eat orange slices and talk about music and projects and all else. Monthly, first Saturday of month pick up games take place April through October.
